“I suffered with low back pain to the point it affected my involvement in sports and having good work performance,” says Dr. Smith. “After several visits to many different types of doctors I was still in pain. I met a Chiropractor who convinced me to try chiropractic treatment. Within four visits I was completely pain free and noticed all the other patients I saw in his office improving like I was. That’s when I decided I wanted to be a chiropractor.”
A Chiropractic Education
Dr. Smith. began his pre-chiropractic education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he received his degree in Exercise Science. He was then accepted into Texas Chiropractic College in Houston, Texas. Upon graduation in 2003, Dr. Smith. returned to the Birmingham area to begin his practice.
On a Personal Note
Dr. Smith. is married to Je Anne and they have three children. He enjoys hunting, fishing, college football and his time with his family. He serves has served as the (past) President of the Birmingham Area Jefferson County Chiropractic Society, member of the Board of Directors for the past President of South Shelby Chamber of Commerce, and is a graduate of the Leadership Shelby County program. He is a member of the Alabama State Chiropractic Association where he serves served as the Governmental Affairs committee member Chair and as the Medicare representative for chiropractors for the state of Alabama. He also is a member of the American Chiropractic Association where he served as the Alabama Local Liaison for the American Chiropractic Association.
